Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2011

OMG!!! Every year I’m left thinking how in the mighty fashion world are they going to be able to top that show? From the hot musical acts (Kanye, Jay-Z, Nicky Minaj, Maroon 5) to the glam to the max lingerie numbers this year’s show was straight FIRE.

Okay so the show basically had me at hello or should I say HELLO! I loved the ballerina likeinspired lingerie that kicked off the fashion show. The lace up heels and wings combination was just killing me. I couldn’t stop yelling ‘work it girls’ with all my might.

One of my favorite moments is always seeing who is going to rock the runway with the million dollar bra. Orlando Bloom’s cutie pie wife carried the honor down the runway.

This year’s bra cost a total of 2million big ones. Wowzer and as a side note that looked like the heaviest piece of the night. Orlando your chick is a trooper.

Nonetheless, ladies did you catch some of the goth themed bras and panties showed towards the end? I almost died and went to fashion heaven, but I decided against it so I could catch the rest of the show. Boy was I happy that I continued to live! Two words:Pink Collection.

Yes I am a huge fan of Victoria’s Secret Pink Collection. I have tons upon tons of their cutesy undergarments and love wearing them. Every piece that was strutted down the runway was an instant hit. Great show Victoria and can’t wait till next year.

Orange Color Trend Winter 2011

Feeling kinda blah or meh fashion-wise lately because of the season? Well, bust out your rut with a bright color like its spring outside! Say no to the usual grays or navy and stand up for your fashion rights.

I hope I just inspired some of you, if not keep reading we’re having fun anyway. So then, the question is why wear orange? Better yet, why not orange?! To me the stepchild of the color world is finally getting its props. Orange is actually a color that many skin tones can pull off, some even deem orange as being universal.

Therefore, you are likely to find orange fashions that look absolutely stunning on you. Orange clothing has been spotted in the form of dresses, pants, scarves, hats, coats, blouses and the list goes on and on. Still need more convincing to give orange a try? How about a bonafide A-list celebrity to close the deal. Look down and you will see a glowing and very pregnant Beyonce rocking the orange trend.

ÚNA BURKE Calfskin corset

The Una Burke leather corset features a multi layered strand body constructed with gold tone studs throughout and a multi hook closure front. It has an adjustable lace up back for the perfect fit. The collection represents “eight human gestures associated with [different] stages of trauma“. Yeah whatever i love it, it’s so different it’s strong but has some romantic aspect to it as well. There are some pieces that strap the arms together, and a cage-like effect from the pieces designed to fit the entire torso. The designs have an medieval feel but shapes the woman’s body amazingly.

Versace for H&M

Donatella Versace thanks for realizing that us mere humans want to wear your line too!  This is Versace ladies at an affordable price ( goes skipping down the street). Okay now that I’ve got my joy under control, I’m going to write the rest of this article and fill you in on what went down.

FASHION! Of course, there was a runway show to blow thestyle out your mind. Male and females hit the runway showcasing bright color schemes, sparkly metallic dresses, prints, leather jackets, sleek hair and leopard print attire. Whew! As if that wasn’t enough, Prince and Nicky Minaj both brought the house down performing live.

All in all it was an awesome event and definitely wet our fashion feet for what’s to come. So then, what was designer Donatella Versace’s inspiration for the H&M line? She said, “I want to give young people my own history, the Versace brand history, and the most iconic fashion moments of Versace.” Mission accomplished.

Jennifer Hudson Wows at The Very Best of Versace for H&M Event

I can’t wait to get my fashion paws on the new Versace clothing line for H&M and apparently celebrities can’t either. A-listers galore strutted their stuff in support of the new line. Fashion alumni included the always glamourous Jessica Alba and Emma Roberts.

However, to me J Hud took the cake yet again. Hudson stunned onlookers in a little black dress that hugged her frame like a glove. She kept her makeup and accessories simple embellishing her LBD with bracelets and dangling earrings.

It wasn’t just her  trendy dress that stuck out to me, but did you see her hair! Resembling the bone-straight look the models later rocked down the runway, Jennifer’s locks looked sleek and classy. Being a fan of hair color as well, I thought the brown highlights were just gorgeous. You go girl!

Mad Hatter

It’s raining hats! Hats are one of my favorite accessories, not only are they practical but they can add major POW WOW to any outfit. Plus, when that dreaded bad hair day rolls around (trust, it shall come), in minutes if not seconds, problem adverted.

This fall and winter there are so many choices to choose from your head will spin! Get it…your head…alright never mind. There’s floppy hats, berets, fedoras, trapper hats and leopard print hats for the wild child in all of us. Moreover, colors ladies! Literally from one spectrum of the rainbow to the other.

Yes it is true Oscar De La Renta, Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Marc Jacobs have all showcased their collections of hats. However, you DO NOT have to drop serious dough to get in on this designer look. Forever21 is like hat heaven right now and you can purchase the same types of hats for $10-$20. So then, go ahead fashionistas and be a mad hatter this fall and winter.

Trend Alert: Colorblocking

What comes to mind when you see the word ‘block’? Some may visualize a young child building a multi-colored fort. It’s easy to see the lure of engaging in such an activity, with there being almost unlimited color combinations and pairings. To a child’s eyes and mind blocks are fun; moreover, when it translates to fashion they can be just as stimulating.

This fall designers have gotten into the fun and are playing their own game of blocks. While at the mall shopping for a coat I noticed shirts, dresses and skirts all with colorblocking design. There were some creations that blew my style mind while others just simply missed the mark.

I hit the internet hard this week looking for a pair of shoes to wear to an upcoming event this weekend and BAM got slammed with the colorblocking trend again. In this post I included a few of my favorite colorblocking dresses by Maggy London, Donna Morgan and BCBGMAXAZRIA.

Makeup Trend: Cat Eyes

For this next post I have a confession. I’m a huge Batman fan. However, not because of the Dark Crusader, but I’m in LOVE with Catwoman. Her seductive eyes were always an attention grabber to me.

Obviously, I’m not alone because now cat eye makeup is trending. Hooray for black eyeliner and cool eyeshadows, they shall now be put to good use. With this makeup look you are in control of the drama. You may choose to create a thick or pencil thin stroke, both look great.

Getting this technique down may take a little practice in the mirror, but I assure you it is well the effort. However, before I send you off to your respective bathrooms to get started don’t forget to keep the rest of your makeup simple. Only let your eyes hold center stage, no sharing.

Bebe Chiffon Kimono Sleeve Top

It’s raining its pouring, but chicness keeps on rolling. Happy Friday everyone! Here in sunny, southern California Mother Nature has decided to cry a little bit which was the inspiration behind this very article.

As the temperature continues to drop how can you stay stylish and warm? Moreover, how can you do so without expending way too much brain power. Let’s face it we’re busy people so fashion should be easy.

One of my favorite outfits to create is dressing up a pair of jeans. It’s the most simple look to pull off night or day. Bebe has a chiffon kimono top with shear sleeves that adds just enough sex appeal. Pair this top with jeans, boots and a cute sweater jacket and voila! Sexy and ready.
